A Form 5 student was fortunate to escape from being raped after she was attacked near her school by a man early Tuesday morning.The incident happened around 6.50am, when the 17-year-old girl was walking towards her school at Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg after using a church toilet nearby.
She was suddenly accosted by an unknown man, who knocked her to the ground and attempted to rape her.
The girl, however, started screaming for help and struck her attacker several times using her pencil case, causing him to flee to a nearby parking lot before escaping in a dark-coloured Perodua Kenari.
It was believed the victim managed to record the licence plate number of the suspect’s car and gave the information to the police when she lodged a report later the same morning.
