An 18-year-old student lodged a police report claiming that five armed men, who initially attempted to rob him, stole his motorcycle instead.The victim from Bandar Baru Semariang was alone at the grounds of the old State Legislative Assembly building when five unknown men approached him around 10.30pm.
One of the men suddenly pulled out a sharp object, believed to be a knife, and demanded he surrendered his money and handphone.
The student refused and attempted to make a dash towards his motorcycle nearby, but found that the men had blocked his path.
He then took off on foot and returned to the scene roughly five minutes later when he thought it was safe, only to discover that the men, and his motor-cycle, were no longer there.
Suspecting the group had stolen his bike, the victim lodged a police report immediately.
